Community vs. Private Acupuncture….
Which one is for me?
In private acupuncture, you will receive treatment in your own room on a massage table.
In community acupuncture, you will receive treatment in a shared space with one to two other people in super comfy zero gravity chairs. We have two rooms for community— one with two chairs, and one with three.
For both treatments, you will check in at the reception desk and get yourself on the schedule.
Then, you’ll head on into your treatment room.
In private acupuncture, you will speak to your acupuncturist once you are on the table to chat about progress and how you’re feeling.
In community acupuncture, you will whisper back and forth with your acupuncturist once you are in your chair to chat about your progress and how you’re feeling. The only exception is your first visit, where you will get the chance to connect one on one with your acupuncturist privately in the reception area.
If you feel more comfortable chatting with your acupuncturist and receiving treatment in private, then private acupuncture is for you.
If you’re comfortable chatting with your acupuncturist and receiving treatment in a shared setting, then community acupuncture is for you.
We have plenty of white noise machines and soft music to keep each treatment space serene, but you are always welcome to bring headphones, sleeping mask, etc. to make the experience entirely your own.
How does it work?
When you come in for your initial visit, your acupuncturist will recommend a personalized treatment plan to get you the best results.
Just like going to the gym or physical therapy, results are seen over time. Each treatment builds on the one that comes before it, and the therapeutic effects of acupuncture are cumulative.
To get the progress you deserve, it is essential to come in consistently according to your recommended treatment plan.
Depending on the severity of the condition and your overall health, most patients will come in weekly for 8-10 visits, or until they get through the whole week with few to no symptoms. AKA come in every week until you feel awesome! Each person is unique and responds differently to treatment, so you may need to come in less or more at this weekly cadence.
Then, we spread appointments out to once every 2-3 weeks, then once per month, etc. until we find your unique sweet spot for maintenance where you feel better and stay better.

Financial and Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
The Acupuncture Studio VT requires 24 hours notice for all appointment cancellations and rescheduling requests. Changes can be made online through our scheduling system up to 24 hours in advance, or during regular clinic business hours by texting or calling 802-547-5231 or emailing calm@theacupuncturestudiovt.com. Any cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time must be made by phone or email.
Effective immediately, appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance, as well as no-show appointments, will be charged the full fee of the appointment to the card on file. This policy applies to all appointments, for both new and existing patients.
For Microneedling services, appointments canceled less than 72 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the appointment value, and less than 24 hours will be charged the full fee of the appointment to the card on file.
Appointments are considered canceled and forfeited 15 minutes after the appointment time without advance notice, and the full fee will be charged to the card on file per the policy. Please contact us at 802-547-5231 if you are running late.
While we understand that life happens, we do not offer any exceptions to this policy.
Your appointment time is reserved for you, and our team works hard to prepare for your appointments and provide high-quality care.
When you schedule an appointment with us, you are actively agreeing to our policy and acknowledging that if you cancel or no-show within 24 hours, you will be charged the full fee to the card on file.
If you have an upcoming appointment and anticipate that you may not be able to make it for any reason, including illness, weather, personal, or work obligations, please proactively reschedule your appointment more than 24 hours in advance.
After you cancel, if you end up being able to make the original time and it remains available, you can always put yourself back on the schedule up to 2 hours before the appointment start time.
We ask that you prepare for your appointments by contacting us well in advance if you need to make adjustments to your bookings. Our cancellation policy is in place to value the time and guarantee the income of our providers, and is non-negotiable.
Payment & Tipping
Payment is due at time of service. Forms of payment accepted include: cash, checks, debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express), and HSA/FSA cards. Please make checks payable to The Acupuncture Studio LLC.

The Acupuncture Studio VT is a no-tipping establishment. If you feel inspired to show gratitude for your session, we invite you to leave a Google review.
Insurance
The Acupuncture Studio VT is not in-network with any health insurance companies, and we do not bill insurance (health insurance, auto, or worker’s comp) for services provided. If your insurance company covers acupuncture services, we are happy to provide you with a receipt (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
All services provided that will be submitted for out-of-network health insurance reimbursement with a superbill must be charged at the full and regular appointment fee. Superbills are not available for reduced rate, package rate, or discounted services if being submitted to health insurance.
