Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are about as thin as a strand of hair, so they're nothing like the needles you're used to at the doctor's office. Most people feel a tiny pinch or a dull, heavy sensation as the needles settle, and then nothing at all. Many patients feel so relaxed they fall asleep!

What is the shared treatment space like?

Our shared treatment space is one of our favorite things about The Acupuncture Studio VT. We have two rooms, one with two zero-gravity reclining chairs and one with three, where patients receive acupuncture in the presence of their community. The rooms are quiet and warm, with soft background music and white noise. Patients check in individually at their own times and each have their own personalized treatment plans. While patients aren't chatting or sharing openly with one another, you'll experience the subtle benefits of co-regulation, the nervous system settling that happens when you're held in a space where the collective healing energy is strong.

What is the individual treatment space like?

Our individual treatment spaces offer patients the privacy to disrobe and rest face-down on treatment tables for services like cupping and acupuncture along the back. We have two rooms with treatment tables, where our Acupuncture Plus Program patients alternate this style of treatment with treatments in our shared space to get the best of both worlds.

Can I book a single session?

Your first visit is a single treatment, so you can experience acupuncture before committing to anything. Patients who'd like to continue care after that begin one of our two programs. That's how we make sure there's always space for you, and that your treatments get you the results you're looking for. Once you are a returning patient who has completed an initial program, you will have the ability to book one-off sessions for tune-ups as needed.

How do I know which program is right for me?

We'll figure that out together! After your online consult and first visit, I'll share my honest recommendation, and we'll choose the program that fits your body, your budget, and what sounds most exciting to you. By signing up for an online consultation and initial visit, there is no pressure and no commitment.

Do you accept insurance?

We are not currently in-network with insurance providers. However, we are happy to provide a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend checking with your provider about your acupuncture benefits before your first visit.
